I have been gone for all morning getting my 3 hour glucose test done. Big Girl just knew I was at the doctor. So, Big Girl just came in the door from playing outside and said,"Mommy? Did you get the baby today?" I told her I hadn't yet, and she said, "But then why were you at the doctor?" Poor girl, for the next few months every time I go to the doctor, she is going to be expecting me to come home with a baby.

Big Girl Funny
Big Girl was coloring a picture at the table the other day when she saw me drinking a cup of decaf coffee. She came out and said to me, "Mommy? I think you shouldn't buy anymore decaf coffee, I think you should buy normal coffee. Because when you drink decaf coffee, you sleep on the couch and then I have to be quiet." She didn't understand that I am sleeping because I am pg not because I am drinking decaf. I explained it to her and she said, "Oooooh . . . I didn't know that." and turned around and went to play.
Bless her little heart. Whenever she sees me asleep, she goes into her room and plays quietly until I wake up.

Home again
I made it through the test, now I just have to wait on the results. My veins cooperated and it didn't go to badly. I am feeling a little nauseas from the whole thing now, but other than that, not too bad.

30 Weeks!
You are 30 weeks pregnant
You may feel as if you have been pregnant forever at this point. It might be hard to imagine being pregnant for another ten weeks, but your baby still has a lot of growing and developing to do! By this time, your baby’s crown-to-rump length is a little over 10.8 inches and the total length of your baby is about 17 inches! Your baby weighs about 3 pounds now. Your uterus can be felt about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus, baby, placenta and the amount of fluid will get larger over the next ten weeks. You should be gaining about a pound a week at this time.
Because you are getting larger, you are probably becoming slower and clumsier. You should try to be careful to avoid dangerous falls. Good posture when sitting and standing can help you feel better during your pregnancy. You also should be rolling over on your side to get up after lying down because your muscles have stretched to accommodate your growing uterus.
Even though your baby is cushioned by the amniotic fluid, she can feel and respond to pain. Your baby now does `practice breathing` to get ready for life outside of your womb. If you have an ultrasound at this time, you will be able to see this. If your baby swallows amniotic fluid down the wrong passage, she will still get hiccups that are noticeable by you. If your baby were born at this time, she would be able to keep herself warm.
The skin begins to smoothen as fat deposits accumulate underneath. The fat insulates and is an energy source.

Big Girl Funny
Big Girl got her stitches out yesterday from her cut on her leg. She freaked out again and we had to hold her down. (No, that is not the funny part.)
On the way to the doctor, we told her that this was a different doctor not the emergency room doctor. We said it was the same doctor that Mommy goes to see. She pondered that for a minute and said, "This is the same doctor you go to see?" I affirmed that yes that was true and then a look of panic settled in her eyes, "But MOMMY?! What if she thinks I have a baby in my belly??"
On a side note, I have to get the three hour glucose test done this week. Ugh I am sooo not looking forward to that!

Big Girl Funny
Daddy and I have a system on getting Big Girl ready for school since I got pg. I have troubles with early days as I tend to get sick. So, when she is on the morning shift in kindergarten, Daddy gets up with her. When she is on the afternoon shift, I get her ready for school.
This morning, I was feeling sick so I was up when Big Girl got up for school this morning. I was laughing to Daddy about how groggy and sleepy and zombie-like she was. And she went on to explain to me how when she wakes up herself, she is never tired, but when daddy gets her up she is always tired. She was convinced that Daddy just liked getting her up early so he could be mean. It was just too funny. While I laughed myself silly and her groggy, serious explanation, Daddy explained that he gets her up early because that is when the teacher says she has to get up, it isn't his fault.
